We are researching on elevated wheelchair.


My contributions to the project:

  • I have prepared the minutes for the discussion, sharing my point about fiberglass prosthetic legs
    • with info gotten from Google as well as ChatGPT, by searching the pros and cons of it.
  • After we chose our topic of elevating wheelchairs, I researched the types of suspension seats on the market on Google. There are electrical, air, and mechanical suspension seats.
    • I shared this with the team, and we checked if any of these suspension seats were suitable for the user or if there were any other types or methods of elevating the user's seat.
    • Had a discussion on what is the best solution for our idea, what we think about the ideas each of us proposed
  • I contributed by discussing the ideal, gap, and goal with the team. Then, we refined our point using chatGPT.
  • I gave multiple ideas and points we could discuss in our background information, have a framework to work, before we research for the necessary content and elaborate on the different points.
    • Inputted that we need to research on the aging population in singapore, the different types of wheelchairs, current issues with the wheelchair, which is the cost, what we could talk about in terms of cost, as well as hydraulic piston system which is part of the proposed solution
    • Split the different parts among the members
    • Google "data and statistics of aging population in singapore" for the data of aging population in Singapore to cite in our background information.
  • I have made the first draft of our problem statement by linking it back to our background information, then sharing it with the team and improvise it together. Then we improve the sentence structure and grammar using GeminiAI.
    • After consultation, we discussed again and produced the final draft
  • Pieced our ideas for our proposed solution together and made our first proposed solution draft, with the necessary informations as well as images.
  • Finding relevant images for our report using Google image, by searching "side view of elderly on wheelchair", "barber chair hydraulic piston", "hydraulic hand lever"
  • Made the necessary changes to the proposed solution portion in the report after getting the feedback from Professor Blackstone during consultation.
    • Added the notes and references to the images
    • Mention "MobiLift" in the report more often.
    • Reorganise the structure of the text and images.
    • Added more information for our proposed solution (frame of Mobilift)
